11th Bride To Wear A 120 Year Old Wedding Dress

Abigail Kingston (30) from Pennsylvania will be the 11th woman in her family to wear a 120-year-old wedding dress, tailored only slightly from its original design. End of 'Gum Wall' Draweth Nigh

After 20 years of people sticking their gum to the walls of an alley by Seattle 's Pike Place Market, officials say it is time for a clean-up. image source: christinacooke.com Known as “the gum wall”, the Market announced this week that it will take down the estimated one million pieces of gum from Post Alley. The sticky landmark has become a popular attraction to visitors and locals . Emily Crawford, Acting Marketing & Communications Director at Pike Place Market said: "People were waiting in line to see improv theatre, and I think it started off as improvisation and it caught on over the years and now it's one of Seattle's most visited visitor attractions." Human DNA in hot dogs, meat in vegetarian dogs

Source: berksfoods.com A new report brings to light that your hot dog or veggie dog may have an unintended "special ingredient" – human DNA. Clear Food , a food-analysis company, tested 345 hot dogs and sausages. T he report shows that human DNA was present in 2% of the products examined. Furthermore, "Two-thirds of the human DNA samples were vegetarian samples". The report goes on to say that researchers found traces of meat in 10 percent of the "vegetarian" products. Meteorologists say the phenomenon can be a type of mirage called a Fata Morgana According to the Daily Mail , a Fata Morgana is a type of mirage that distort distance objects, and can be can be seen on land or sea. It’s caused when the sun heats up the atmosphere above the land or oceans, which creates a gradient of temperatures. When light hits a boundary between two layers that are different temperatures – and as a result different densities – it bends and travels at a different angle.

Canadian inventor tests new prototype of record-setting hoverboard

 Montreal inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru broke the world record for the longest hoverboard flight this past May, Duru flew up to five metres above a lake for a distance of 275.9 metres aboard his homemade, propeller-powered hoverboard in a trip that lasted more than 1½ minutes. Now, the 31-year-old Duru and his company, Omni Hoverboards, are working on a secret, next-generation version of the device. Watch as he takes CBC's Reg Sherren into the workshop where he is building it, and then to a Quebec lake where he puts the new prototype to the test for the first time. Source: cbc.ca
