Heartwarming moment a runaway dog tracks down cancer-stricken owner in hospital

CCTV captured the amazing footage of this little schnauzer strolling through the doors of a hospital and searching the halls for her best friend.
This plucky pooch was on a mission to find her owner, Nancy Franck, who was being treated for cancer, and had already been  at the Mercy Medical Centre for two weeks following surgery.
Proving that a dog really is man’s best friend, this audacious canine set off on the mirraculous journey to find her ‘mum’ on Saturday.

Nancy’s husband Dale had assumed that Cissy had run away for good when he found that she had gone missing, but his heartache wasn’t to last long as he was told that their beloved dog had tracked down her best pal and turned up at the hospital.
Dale said: "I thought she just wanted to go someplace, but I didn’t know where and she had never run away before.”
Cissy’s visit was not just a surprise to her owners, but also came as quite a shock to the staff of the hospital.
Mercy security officer Samantha Conrad said, speaking to local news channel KCRG: “We looked up and there was this dog that was just running across the lobby.

“We started looking at the tags and it had the address and we saw how far away this dog had lived, as far as going at least fifteen blocks to get here. So, it was quite an amazing journey that this dog made.”
In fact, the search for her best friend took this amazing dog across up to 20 blocks and through two sets of automatic doors before she reached the hospital reception.
Cissy would have made it all the way to her ‘mum’s’ bedside but was felled at the last hurdle by the hospitals lifts according to Dale:
“She wanted to go see her mum. She was on a mission but she couldn’t find the right elevator to take.”

Nancy said: "I don’t know how she found the right door or did any of that herself.
“That was great just being able to see her. That was perfect. I’m glad she thought of it.”
According to the family Cissy had never been to the hospital before, making her surprise visit all the more amazing.
