Human DNA in hot dogs, meat in vegetarian dogs

Source: berksfoods.com A new report brings to light that your hot dog or veggie dog may have an unintended "special ingredient" – human DNA. Clear Food , a food-analysis company, tested 345 hot dogs and sausages. T he report shows that human DNA was present in 2% of the products examined. Furthermore, "Two-thirds of the human DNA samples were vegetarian samples". The report goes on to say that researchers found traces of meat in 10 percent of the "vegetarian" products. Meteorologists say the phenomenon can be a type of mirage called a Fata Morgana According to the Daily Mail , a Fata Morgana is a type of mirage that distort distance objects, and can be can be seen on land or sea. It’s caused when the sun heats up the atmosphere above the land or oceans, which creates a gradient of temperatures. When light hits a boundary between two layers that are different temperatures – and as a result different densities – it bends and travels at a different angle.

Canadian inventor tests new prototype of record-setting hoverboard

 Montreal inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru broke the world record for the longest hoverboard flight this past May, Duru flew up to five metres above a lake for a distance of 275.9 metres aboard his homemade, propeller-powered hoverboard in a trip that lasted more than 1½ minutes. Now, the 31-year-old Duru and his company, Omni Hoverboards, are working on a secret, next-generation version of the device. Watch as he takes CBC's Reg Sherren into the workshop where he is building it, and then to a Quebec lake where he puts the new prototype to the test for the first time. Source: cbc.ca

'Heroic' Veteran Chris Mints, Was Shot 7 Times

Chris Mintz "tried to protect some people," his aunt Sheila Brown told NBC News in a telephone interview. "We were told he did heroic things to protect some people." She said that Mintz was shot seven times and had been in surgery since the shooting that left 10 dead, including the gunman. Originally from Randleman, North Carolina, Mintz served about 10 years in the Army. He had just started college, Brown said. He was shot in the back, abdomen and hands, and had two broken legs, she added. "We're not sure how his legs got broken," she said. Cape Town – “As I looked down at my meal, I could hardly believe what I was seeing,” said Pretoria resident Stella van Heerden. Van Heerden and her family were on board the 09:15am Air Mauritius flight MK851 headed for OR Tambo on Thursday morning when she made the nauseating discovery. The Van Heerden's had just enjoyed a 9-day Sugar Bay beach break on the island of Mauritius but unfortunately it was not about to end well. “It was really upsetting for me, as I had eaten half of my meal already,” said Van Heerden. “I believe they came from the mushrooms, I looked down, asking myself, 'What is this?'
